Volunteers gather in the Cardiff office to celebrate Christmas

A few volunteers gathered on the 12th December to celebrate Christmas in the Cardiff office with a glass of mulled wine and a few home made mince pies!

The gathering was a chance for a few volunteers in the local area to get together to pray and reflect on the theme of Advent, share with each other what is coming up in the new year, as well as have a small social time with each other.  Kieran O’Brien, manager for CAFOD South Wales said:

While this was only a small gathering of a few volunteers and supporters mainly from the Cardiff area, it was also a chance to talk about what is coming up in the New Year and to hear our supporter’s initial reaction to some of our plans and ideas for 2013.

As the office has recently undergone a complete change in staffing, this was a chance for people to meet up and discuss what they would like to see from CAFOD South Wales over the next year.

Bernie Mills, CAFOD Diocesan Officer said:

It was a wonderful meeting, a chance for us all to meet up, share and look forward to the next year on how we can all work together.  It is clear that people want more opportunities to meet up with each other and share ways in which they can work together, so we will look at ways we can do that with all our supporters across the two dioceses of Cardiff and Menevia.

The meeting also started with a prayerful reflection Christ Unexpected prepared especially for the meeting which you can download and view below.
