Budget 2013With the Budget coming up on 20 March, there’s a great opportunity to get your local MP to put pressure on Chancellor George Osborne to:

  • keep the Government’s promise that 0.7% of national income will go to life-saving aid, stopping children dying from hunger and helping the poorest feed themselves. It’s about time to live up to a 40 plus year old promise, which could inspire other rich nations to act.
  • ensure that the Finance Bill will make UK companies operating in poor countries spill the beans on tax dodging by unscrupulous multinationals – they lose three times more money to tax havens than they receive in aid each year.

Stick-meet-your-MP_mediumPlease, please, write to your MP. (Click here to find your MP: http://www.parliament.uk/get-involved/contact-your-mp/) highlighting the points above.

Remember, it’s your MP’s job to listen to you – so your voice really will make a big difference.

Please let us know if you need any further information and if you get a response from your MP.

  1. I agree with all of this and will write to my MP. It is high time the UK kept it’s promise to divert 0.7% of its GDP to international aid
