Walk of Witness – 1st June

Walk of witness - 1st JuneWorking in partnership with Christian Aid and Tearfund, we are holding a Walk of Witness around churches in the Cardiff area on the 1st June to help bring an end to global hunger.

This will be a great opportunity for the Christian community to come together, pray and reflect, show solidarity on the issues of global hunger.  The walk will include visits to several churches in the Cardiff area, including St David’s Catholic Cathedral.

Starting at the Lightship in Cardiff Bay, the Walk of Witness will take a tour around Cardiff, with stopping points at City United Reformed Church on Windsor Place and Minny Street Welsh Congregational Church in Cathays. At each church there will be an opportunity to gather together in prayer around the issue of global hunger.

We will continue the walk onto Bute Park for a shared picnic (please bring food and drink to share) and walk through the City Centre to end at St David’s Catholic Metropolitan Cathedral in Charles Street.

If you are unable to cover the 6 mile trek (roughly 2hrs of walking) then why not join us for a leg of the walk (as we go past your church) or for the shared picnic at Bute Park and then the short walk into town?

We ask that you bring sensible walking shoes and suitable outer wear, plus food and drink for the journey, as well as food for the shared picnic. Please let us know if you would like to join us so that we have a rough idea of numbers joining us on the day.

This will be a family friendly event, and we hope to be an enriching experience for all those who take part, as well as sending a clear message to the wider community and our Government that we are standing in solidarity with our sisters and brothers throughout the world.
