Teas and cakes fundraiser for the global poor!

St Helen’s CAFOD group in Caerphilly raised over £600 to help the global poor through the selling of teas and cakes to the local community.

On a sunny Friday afternoon the CAFOD group prepared a huge range of delicious temptations for all those who attended, including cream and strawberry scones for all and a range of fundraising activities including a raffle.

Kieran O’Brien, who gave a short input at the event, as well as succumbing to the many temptations on offer, reminded everyone about the 1 in 8 in our world who will go hungry tonight. “It is wonderful to see so many people support this wonderful event, and the work of CAFOD.  Your work here today is transforming lives and making a huge difference”.
