Romero talk

With the news that the beatification of the late Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador will happen “as soon as possible” by a source in the Vatican, this talk will be an opportunity to explore who Oscar Romero is and why he is of such significance to the Catholic Church.

Our speaker, Julian Filochowski, who has worked alongside Archbishop Oscar in El Salvador, is chair of the Archbishop Romero Trust and comes with lots of experience and stories relating to the soon to be beatified Oscar Romero. The Trust which he chairs aims to raise awareness and celebrate the life and work of Oscar Romero and to support social justice initiatives in Latin America that carry forward the tradition of his work.

The talk will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday 19 March.

Venue: St David’s Catholic College, Ty Gwyn Road, Cardiff, CF23 5QD

Watch our short video of Clare Dixon, who was in El Salvador when the news broke that the Vatican will beatify Oscar Romero.

Please do invite as many people as you know to join you for what promises to be an unmissable event. Copies of our poster can be found here:

We look forward to seeing you there!
