Pupils from Cardiff school respond to Emergency Appeal

Pupils fundraise for Earthquake appealPupils from Holy Family primary school in Cardiff are helping to support the Nepal Earthquake appeal through the DEC Cymru appeal.

Pupils received a talk from CAFOD diocesan manager Kieran O’Brien who thanked them for all their fundraising during Lent. The school managed to raise £1016.88 for the Lent appeal, which will be matched funded by the UK government.

Mr O’Brien also highlighted the importance not only of long term work, to help people to respond to emergencies, but also sometimes we need to respond urgently to help those who are in need now.SONY DSC

Kieran O’Brien said:

The news of the earthquake in Nepal is simply heartbreaking. Millions of people will need urgent help, as the UN estimates that around a quarter of the population has been affected. This is a huge task, which requires a huge response.
