We are rolling out a series of talks on our work in Bolivia during September, encouraging all parish volunteers and supporters to come along and to hear about how your support makes a difference, as well as some updates on how you can get involved this Harvest Fast Day.
CAFOD has been working in Bolivia, the poorest country in South America, for more than twenty years. Join us for one of the talks near you:
Swansea on Saturday, 10 September from 10 am – 4 pm, book here.

Harvest Fast Day is an important date in the Church’s calendar where we ensure that everyone around the world celebrates in the abundance of God’s creation, not just a select few. Take a look at our Fast Day resources and how to get involved in organising Fast Day fundraising in your parish here or how you can spread the word about CAFOD by Speaking at Mass here.
Volunteers helped to found CAFOD and remain at the heart of our work at Fast Day.
Don’t forget Harvest Fast Day 2016: Friday 7 October
This harvest we hear from Nicanora, who is 32 years old and lives on the Bolivian Altiplano. Nicanora, her husband and 4 children often go hungry as growing crops on the Altiplano is difficult due to the extreme weathers. One hailstorm can wipe out a whole harvest.
However, over the next two years Nicanora will go on a journey, where she will work with our partners, to learn new skills in modern and traditional farming techniques. Her family will learn how to build wormeries and greenhouses, which will enable them to grow nutritious crops.
Please use come to the briefings to familiarise yourself with the materials on Bolivia so that you let everyone in your parish know how they can get involved this Harvest Fast Day.
For those of you who are a CAFOD parish contact, you’ll receive your Fast Day pack at the beginning of September.
If you can’t make the Fast Day briefings, you can join us for a webinar on 7th October:
