Wedding bells for Will

p1150337

We are delighted to announce that our lovely Communications Intern, Will Rees, walked down the aisle on Saturday 11 February to say “I do” to his gorgeous bride, Vivienne.

The ceremony took place at the beautiful mediaeval church of St Barrwg which stands in a prominent position high above the village of Bedwas, near Caerphilly which the couple have made their home.

Will is a Welsh speaker having grown up in Pembrokeshire and loves all things Welsh!

He has a Master’s in Public Relations and Communications Management from Cardiff University and this is his first professional communications role.

In his free time he works on communications for his local rugby club, Bedwas RFC and his choir, the Aber Valley Male Voice Choir.  Vivenne is a nurse at a hospital in Cardiff.

Will and Vivienne chose an historic building for their marriage – the church  retains much of its original fabric and medieval features, such as its saddleback tower, west doorway and one of the north nave windows.

Inside, a panelled wagon roof bridges the nave.

Its font is Norman and has a distinctive cable moulding around its base.

Like many churches, St. Barrwg’s was ‘restored’ in the 19th Century.  It was around this time that its stained glass windows were inserted.

We wish Vivienne and Will a long and very happy life together.
