Family Fast Day briefings – in an area near you!

Family Fast day is on the 23rd of February. To prepare for this appeal we are holding a range of meetings and events to brief you on the Fast Day materials, as well as catch up with you on a few things!

This Lent we are inviting supporters to express their love and compassion for our global family through prayer, fasting and giving.

We have been awarded match funding for our appeal. This means donations made between 13 February (Shrove Tuesday) and 12 May will be matched by the UK Government, up to a total value of £5m. Funds raised during this period will need to be sent to CAFOD by 1 July 2018.

To give supporters an example of what their donations could fund, we are sharing the experiences of Marian in Zimbabwe (pictured above, and main picture at the top) and her two children Tawanda and Svondo.

If you are a Fast Day volunteer your pack should have arrived by now, and parish packs and envelopes will be available around 20th January. Please plan to give out the envelopes and give the Short Talk, or ask someone else to deliver it, on the weekend of 17-18 February.

There are two ways you can hear about the appeal. Join us for a Fast Day Briefing (see dates below) or join us for a ‘cup of tea’ meeting. These are small meetings where we will phone around and arrange a convenient time to catch up and talk about supporting Fast Day in your parish over a nice cuppa!

    • Hi Jean,

Do you have a date when we can meet in the next week or two? Before Easter if possible! How has the weather been near you? It’s been disastrous here! Look forward to meeting up soon. Therese
