This Thursday (19 September) brings together our team of Education volunteers at the Mostyn Room, adjacent to the Metropolitan Cathedral of St David right in the centre of Cardiff. (11 am to 3 pm).

We are looking to add to our small team of School Volunteers in the Archdiocese of Cardiff.  So…

Are you a parent with some free days during the week in school term time? Perhaps you have delivered Children’s Liturgy sessions and would like to support young people learn more about CAFOD in a school setting?  Are you a retired teacher or grandparent still keen to share your experience and passion?

Foundationa Phase 1

We would love to hear from you and support you on an amazing journey into volunteering to raise awareness and support for our work as the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development.

Could you spare a few days a month to visit your local Catholic primary or secondary schools to share with young people updates on justice, international development and faith in action to support people living in the poorest communities.

As a CAFOD School Volunteer in Cardiff and/or Menevia, this role will take you into Catholic primary and secondary schools to deliver 15 min assemblies and 45 min workshops using pre-prepared CAFOD education resources and power-point presentations.  You are very welcome to join us at our “Refresher training” for a first hand glimpse into what this rewarding role really is about.School visit to St Mary's Lugwardine (3)

If you decide that you would like to go forward for training, then Training Day 1 is on Thursday 10 October at CAFOD’s Head Office in London (Romero House) near Waterloo/Lambeth North Station.

After Day 1, you will make a supervised visit to a local primary school and then, if successful, you will proceed to Day 2 training. (London again on 5 December).  Full training and travel expenses are covered.

DBS checks, references and an interview are required to fulfill the volunteer position.
