Women of Gaza: Listening to their perspective on 14 years of blockade

This evening (Thursday 4 March) at 6.30 pm – CIDSE – the International Cooperation for Development and Solidarity (CIDSE) will be inviting prominent women’s rights defenders to discuss the situation in Gaza from a gender perspective.

Gaza is a difficult place for women, many of them have been bearing the brunt of the violence and the deteriorating socio-economic situation arising from the ongoing Israeli blockade.

Like women elsewhere, they are also facing restrictions imposed by a patriarchal society. Yet despite the devastation, women in Gaza continue to strive to make the difference under siege and pursue their hopes, dreams and aspirations.

They will share their inspiring stories of working and living under 14 years of illegal blockade and the struggle for women’s rights in Gaza.
