On 2 September, the community of Caerphilly came together to hold a Creation Celebration – a special event where people celebrate the environment – and ask the local MP, Wayne David, to take urgent action to tackle climate change.
All are invited to come to a Creation Celebration Mass at St Helen’s RC Church, Caerphilly on Monday 2 September at 12 noon.
Mass will be outside on the lawn (weather permitting) or in the hall.
Mass will be followed by a bring-and-share picnic.

Pope Francis, in Laudato Si‘ describes how our beautiful planet has been despoiled and exploited for profit. We all need to value Creation.
Parishioners from St Joseph’s parish in Penarth and St Mary’s parish in Dinas Powys, came together on Wednesday 3 October to mark the end of Creation time which ran until 4 October, the feast of St Francis of Assisi.
This is an ecumenical season dedicated to prayer for the protection of Creation and the promotion of sustainable lifestyles and this dedicated group of volunteers organised a Prayer Vigil and invited other local denominations to join their celebration.
