Remembering in November

Memorial Masses in Cardiff and Menevia

November is traditionally the month of remembrance in the Catholic Church when we are given the opportunity to reflect on and pray for those who are no longer with us.

This November CAFOD are holding Memorial Masses in each diocese in remembrance of all our supporters and loved ones who have died.

These Masses are our opportunity to stop and say thank you for the incredible impact our supporters have made. Without them we would not be able to reach those most in need.

There is a Memorial Mass this evening (Tuesday) 7 November for the Cardiff Archdiocese at 7 pm at Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs parish, 101 Belmont Road Hereford by kind permission of Father Mathew Carney OSB.

CAFOD Fast Day Lunch

Lent_lunch_cornerstone_2014Friday the 14th March was the CAFOD Lenten Fast Day and Catholics joined CAFOD staff and supporters at the Cornerstone in Cardiff for a homemade soup and bread lunch.

The lunch took place in The Cornerstone, opposite Cardiff Metropolitan Cathedral of St David, following the 12.45pm mass and we welcomed around16 people to share in a lunch of soup made by long-time supporters Roswitha and Sheila. Donations from the lunch went towards the CAFOD Lenten appeal.

Many parishes across the dioceses are fundraising in order to support the CAFOD Lenten dig deep appeal whihc has Sierra Leone as its focus country. To find out more about the dig deep campaign and to have a look at resources please see the main CAFOD website here.
