Wales plays it part IF

OSThe Welsh Government and Welsh public also have an important role to play in tackling the global hunger crisis.

We need to ensure that the money we spend in Wales supports fair trade, tax transparency and environmental sustainability.  The Welsh Government must maintain its support for the Wales for Africa programme and introduce a strong Sustainable Development Bill.

We are also looking for a renewed government commitment to Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship, so that people in Wales have an increased understanding of the complex root causes of hunger.

Throughout Wales there will be an IF tour.  Events are being held by the IF/OS coalition over the next couple of months in Cardiff, Newport, Swansea, Carmarthen, Aberystwyth and Flint where we will be asking supporters to send a message in a bottle to world leaders at the G8 in Northern Ireland on June 15th.

Why not hold your own event to support the IF campaign with your parish or in your community?  It can be anything from a stall in a market, to running the Emmaus meal in your parish or asking your local school to run an activity.  Whatever you do please let us know so that we can support you.
